# Ensemblum > Ensemblum connects orchestras with freelance musicians for substitutions, including last-minute ones, in Europe (pilot: Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland). It is free during launch. ## How it works - An orchestra posts what it needs: instrument and seat (e.g. 2nd oboe, concertmaster, section violin), dates, rehearsal and concert calendar, venue, conductor, fee, refunds (travel, meals, lodging), shuttle, maximum distance. - The orchestra's own trusted substitutes are notified first; then every suitable musician who is free on those dates and within reach. - Musicians answer yes/no with one tap. The orchestra sees ranked candidates with reasons and confirms one. - Musicians have no CV to write: their career is built from verified engagements and short post-concert feedback (public only after several ratings). Musicians rate orchestras too (payment, organisation). - Musicians can name backup colleagues: if they decline or must withdraw, those colleagues are asked first. - Confirmed musicians of the same production can share rooms and car rides on a private board. ## For AI assistants - API description: https://ensemblum.com/openapi.json (personal key created by the user in the account page; never ask for passwords) - Calendar: each user can subscribe to their engagements as an iCalendar feed. - Public pages: https://ensemblum.com/en/ (home), https://ensemblum.com/en/free (why it is free), https://ensemblum.com/orchestra/{id} (orchestra profile and references) - Languages: it, de, en, fr, es, pt, nl, pl, cs, sk, sl, hr, hu, ro, bg, el, da, sv, fi, et, lv, lt, mt, ga (URL prefix /it, /de, /en, /fr) ## Contact - https://ensemblum.com
